Telecoms Case Study

Public Sector Client

The Challenge
The Client wanted to find a more cost effective solution for their telecoms requirements.

The telecoms service was provided by one main supplier supported by two others for smaller specialist requirements.

The Client is split into numerous departments for administration purposes each with their own budgetary responsibility. The ability to charge each department for their specific usage had to be maintained.

Stenmoore Role
Our objective is to provide “Best Value” for our clients in the public sector. We wanted to ensure we obtained the best value in the marketplace on an ongoing basis for the telecoms services.

The first phase of activity was to analyse their existing cost structure and establish a baseline from which all benefits delivered could be measured.

Once the baseline report was approved by the Client we structured an enquiry (utilising our market knowledge and expertise) which was issued to all OGC (Office of Government Commerce)approved telecoms suppliers.

The RFP (Request For a Proposal) was structured to obtain:

Stenmoore managed the entire process with the minimum resource from the Client.

The Delivery
We were able to structure a new solution that delivered annual savings of £75,000 without any change or interruption to the everyday running of the telecoms service.

We also identified an opportunity for an additional saving of £10,000 annually through aggregation of call spend.

We also structured a consolidated invoicing process which meant the Client only paid one invoice per month rather than the 80 plus prior to the new solution being implemented. We also implemented a Management Information structure that provided the Client with the ability to charge internal departments for their actual telecoms usage.

Stenmoore are still involved in managing the delivery of the service and the relationship with the supplier to ensure a high quality service and to ensure specific solutions are delivered to meet the requirements of the rapidly changing environment of the Clients organisation
